Stuart Alve Olson, longtime protégé of Master T.T. Liang (1900–2002), is a world-renowned teacher, translator, and writer on Taoist philosophy, health, martial art, and internal arts. Since his early twenties, he has studied and practiced Taoism, Chinese Buddhism, and other Asian-related arts. In 2010, he co-founded Valley Spirit Arts with Patrick Gross to publish books, DVDs, and other resources. Stuart is the founder and head teacher at the Sanctuary of Tao in Phoenix, Arizona.
